Cosmos get Lucky with their latest addition

The New York Cosmos announced a move on Monday, the signing of forward Lucky Mkosana. Mkosana joins the club from the Tampa Bay Rowdies, where he spent the entire 2014 season. As per club policy, terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Mkosana played collegiality at Dartmouth, becoming the school's all-time leading scorer, before being taken 23rd overall in the MLS draft by the Chicago Fire. He never signed with Chicago though, opting instead to join the Harrisburg City Islanders. He spent the 2012 and 2013 seasons with the USL Pro club, and is third on the franchise's all-time scoring list with 20 goals in 41 appearances.

During the 2014 season, he made 20 appearances for Tampa Bay, scoring a pair of goals. Coach Gio Savarese had the following to say about what Mkosana adds to the team:

"Lucky adds pace, strength, and is a goal-scoring threat. He gives our attacking options a real boost."
