We've been hearing news of Raul and the New York Cosmos meeting for months now, but according to Marca, the deal is almost done. The Spanish paper is suggesting that a one-year deal between the player and NASL club is going to be announced in the next several days, and that Raul will be spending the 2015 season wearing the green and white.
The report indicates that the player will return to Real Madrid in a coaching capacity after the completion of his Cosmos' contract, but that he's just not ready to hang up his scoring boots quite yet. That would be great news for the club, who could certainly use a player with his composure in front of goal leading their line next season.
Raul was in attendance for last weekend's disappointing draw with the Indy Eleven. Hopefully, next season he'll be able to help the club find enough goals to come away from that fixture with more than a point.
